what is prep?

Short for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, it involves taking pills containing the drugs Tenofovir and Emtricitabine to protect you from catching HIV.

The right prep for you…

TRANS/NON BINARY

PrEP does not affect hormone levels. Any hormones you take will not affect PrEP. ‘Daily PrEP’ dosing is generally recommended. Although ‘Event Based’ dosing is an option if your only HIV risk is receptive anal sex (Sex where a penis enters your anus).
WOMEN

PrEP does not affect contraception. Taking contraception does not affect PrEP. Use the ‘Daily PrEP’ dosing to be protected from HIV during vaginal sex. For more information visit the ‘Women and PrEP’ website.

Both ‘Daily PrEP’ and ‘Event based’ PrEP will protect you against HIV during vaginal/front hole sex. Watch the videos and choose the one that works best for you.
